The working proof / 01
Try the rail before you install it.
Move through this excerpt. The real extension finds readable lines on the page and keeps its guide aligned through scroll and reflow.
Reading can become harder when every line asks for attention at once.
A small landmark makes returning after an interruption less demanding.
Reading Rail follows the text while the rest of the page stays exactly where it is.
Links still work, words stay selectable, and Escape clears the view immediately.

Four useful parts / 02
A ruler, not a reader mode.
-
01
Focus in place
Choose one rendered line or the whole paragraph. The surrounding page dims while the original content remains live.
-
02
Open the spacing
Save Original, Open, or WCAG-width line and letter spacing per site. No font claims and no permanent page changes.
-
03
Listen when useful
Ask the browser’s built-in voice to read the current line. Stop it with the same button or shortcut.
-
04
Stay on the keyboard
Toggle, move, and read with shortcuts. Escape hides everything immediately, with no keyboard trap.
The privacy column / 03
Your reading stays between you and the page.
Reading Rail has no account, analytics, ads, network requests, or content upload. It stores only your settings for each site in your browser.
